Module 1
Firearm Safety

1 Hour
Class Training Objectives
1. Identify the main causes of firearm accidents.
2. How the three fundamental NRA rules for safe gun handling apply when carrying or using a concealed pistol.
3. How the NRA rules for using or storing a gun apply when carrying or using a concealed firearm.
4. The importance of carrying and using a pistol responsibly and ethically.
5. Special safety considerations that must be observed when carrying or using a concealed pistol.
6. The various techniques for storing a pistol safely.

Pistol Nomenclature / 
Selecting a Pistol 
for Self Defense

1. Firearm Safety

2. Identify two main types of pistols.
3. Identify the main components of a pistol.
4. Identify the criteria for selecting a pistol suited to your individual self-defense needs.

Ammunition Knowledge /
Defensive Ammunition

2 Hours
Class Training Objectives
1. Firearm Safety
(N/A: if CWP Training has been Completed.)
2. Identify the main components of a pistol cartridge.
3. Identify how to properly store ammunition.
4. Identify the major types of pistol ammunition.
5. Identify the difference between practice ammunition and defensive ammunition.
6. Identify additional accessories for concealed carry.

Module 4
Basic Defensive
Pistol Skills

3 Hours
Class Training Objectives
1. Firearm Safety
(N/A: if CWP Training has been Completed.)
2. Identify the Fundamentals of Marksmanship.
3. Identify Elements of a Good Shooting Position and explain how they can change in a defensive encounter.
4. Explain and demonstrate the fundamentals of defensive marksmanship.
5. Explain defensive accuracy.
6. Explain the differences between cover and concealment, and identify examples of each.
7. Caliber, Accuracy, Recoil, Follow-up

Concealment

4. Class Room drawing from Concealment practice. (Unloaded Firearms only)

Mindset
Responding to an Attack 
and the Aftermath

Class Training Objectives
1. Firearm Safety

2. The levels of mental awareness.
3. The importance of mental preparation and developing the proper mindset for carrying and using a pistol for personal protection and facing a life-threatening encounter.
4. Techniques for avoiding life-threatening confrontations.
5. The psychological and physiological changes that may occur during an attack.
6. The differences between having a firearm for personal protection in the home and carrying a pistol for personal protection outside the home.
7. Techniques for controlling and responding to a violent encounter.
8. The emotional, legal and social aftermath of a defensive shooting
9. Protecting yourself and your family from the legal aftermath of a defensive shooting.

Carry Modes and 
Pistol Concealment

Class Training Objectives
1. Firearm Safety

2. Identify the various pistol concealed
     carry modes and the benefits and  
     limitations of each.
3. Explain the basic principles of pistol 
    concealment as they relate to the
    carrying of a pistol for self-defense.

Firearm Cleaning &
Maintenance

Class Training Objectives
1. Firearm Safety
(Brief Refresher only, if CWP Training has been Completed.)
2. Identify the basic equipment needed to
    clean/maintain a firearm.
3. Identify how to properly clean both
    semi-automatic pistols and revolvers.
4. Field Strip class participants Firearm.
     (Factory manual required)
5. Identify what services are best referred
    to a qualified gunsmith.

Training Activities

      protection skills.
3. Explain methods and precautions for
    dry-fire practice, including drawing
    from the holster.

 *******NO LIVE AMMUNITION IN THE CLASSROOM******


Covid-19 Virus Precautions:

Anyone showing any signs of illness will not be allowed in the classroom.

Social distancing is encouraged while attending the training. (6 ft.)

Masks and Hand Sanitizer will be available.

Mask are currently not required. 

Please respect anyone that has made the decision to continue this safety precaution. 

Please use the available hand sanitizer before handling paperwork and test materials.

In the event of illness your deposit can be moved to a later date, if you contact Dragon Tactical no less than 5 business days before your scheduled class.

Class Training Requirements

Valid Photo I.D.: SC Driver’s License / Government issued I.D. 

Training Modules and Courses may have different requirements for firearms, ammunition and clothing. Special requirements are listed in the Course / Module description.

If your training will include (Live Fire) Outdoor Range time, Dress for the weather and review the Range Rules before you

arrive for training.
